10 Days of Affirmations (That Will Actually Make You Feel Better)

Jun 7
The way we talk to ourselves matters much more than we realize. It’s responsible for our moods, confidence levels, and overall opinions of ourselves. Unfortunately, we tend to feed ourselves negative self-talk, including phrases like “I’m not good enough” or “I’m never going to be successful.” Do these phrases sound familiar? If so, you may be guilty of negative self-talk. Don’t sweat it, as we’re all guilty of it from time to time. Luckily, we can rewire our brains to be nicer to ourselves.

Affirmations are powerful tools we can utilize to make ourselves feel better in the present moment. These are positive, inspiring, compassionate statements that speak to us. The more we practice them, the better we’ll get! With practice, you’ll find yourself more positive without having to try. Imagine a life in which you talk to yourself more lovingly. How happier do you think you’ll be?

Here are 10 affirmations you can use whenever you need them.
“I am forgiveness.”
Forgiveness is a key component to healing and moving forward. When we lack forgiveness towards ourselves and others, we hold ourselves back. Allow yourself to speak your forgiveness into existence and free yourself from the ties it has on you.

“I am freedom.”
Societal standards and cultural pressures often leave us feeling limited or trapped. However, the reality is that we are all free beings with the power and means to control our own lives and experiences. Once you genuinely feel free, you’ll be amazed at how you can improve your quality of life.

“I am worthy of kindness I bestow to others.”
Speaking of societal standards, we tend to feel as if we need to accomplish grand tasks or be productive to feel worthy. What if we told you that you’re worthy precisely as you are? You are - and we all are. Accepting yourself exactly as you are is essential to your mental health, and once you believe in your worthiness, you’ll feel more content, fulfilled, and motivated.

“I am not my mistakes.”
Mistakes are bound to happen because we’re human. Making mistakes is an essential part of our life journey. If we never make mistakes, how will we learn? Instead of letting our mishaps hold us down and make us feel bad, we should focus on how to grow in the future. Our mistakes are not a part of who we are.
“I am capable of anything I put my mind to.”
Do you suffer from self-doubt? A lot of us do, but we don’t have to. Self-doubt is tied to negative self-talk and a lack of belief in ourselves. Reminding ourselves that we are capable of achieving anything we desire will give us the confidence boost we need to go after our dreams.

“I am connected to all living things.”
We know that having a sense of connection is beneficial to our mental health. What that connection is can be up to you. For some, feeling connected to their inner child is the goal. For others, feeling connected to the creation of the universe is the goal.

“I am open to new experiences, and life is working for me.”
One great thing about human life is that it always offers new experiences. When we keep ourselves open to these new experiences, we have the opportunity to learn, enjoy, create, and discover new opportunities. Life would become dull if we stuck to our current ways forever, don’t you think?

“I am a vessel of peace.”
It’s easy to get caught up in the stress of everyday life and responsibilities. But unfortunately, focusing on our priority leads to unfavorable emotions. By actively choosing peace, we are showing those negative emotions that they cannot control us. We are the architects of our feelings, and we can choose to live in peace.

“I am love. I am worthy of giving and receiving love.”
Love is arguably the purest human emotion. Treating ourselves, others, and the world around us with love makes us feel good. It also opens the door for us to bring more love into our lives. So operate out of love and see how your life changes.

“I choose to be happy and honor all of my feelings.”
Happiness is something we all desire. Unfortunately, we tend to wait around for happiness to happen to us. It’s important to remember that happiness exists within us, and we are all capable of channeling it.
